Benefits of Broccoli

Easy to grow, easier to cook. Broccoli is a staple in our kitchen. Boil it, put it in stir-fry (our fast go-to), put in pasta, salads, whatever! You can chop it up, put some oil in the ove, bake it for bit. And there you go.

Ah, the cruciferous veggies. So wonderful. in every way. I love them. Broccoli's close cousin cauliflower is a favorite of mine as well.

Here's what you get from broccoli:

  • soluble and insoluble fiber
  • rich, rich in vitamin C
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin K
  • B vitamins
  • Iron
  • Calcium
  • Zinc
  • Phosphorous
  • Other phytonutrients that lower the risk of heart disease and other cancers
  • Contains sulforaphane (sulfur) which helps to block cartilage-destroying enzymes. It does this by blocking a molecule that causes inflammation. This prevents osteoarthritis.

What do you know? It always boils down to one thing, doesn't it? Eat your greens, darlin'. Just eat them.

Love to you!
