Calm flow to transition from an active, stressful day into a more peaceful, calmer state of being. This practice is for you to become more present, to become a listener and a lover. 

Evening is the time we get to spend with loved ones, friends or most importantly, ourselves. And it is important to soften and to let peace and love take control, to get out of sympathetic mode and into parasympathetic. 

This practice is calm and measured with anjaneyasana, marichiasana variation, vadrasana with neck rolls, ardha baddha padma paschimotanasana, variations of legs up the wall. 

Then we cap it off with a variation of chandra bhedhana, a pranayama technique to balance a brain that's been overactive on the left side (our logical side). This technique helps to bring the right side of the brain where intuition, peace of mind, passivity, and creativity emerge. 

This pranayama is called moon piercing because it ignites the chandra or moon channel of our bodies and minds. You will feel slower and more peaceful and maybe even a little cooler. 

One thing I would like to say here is that Manduka is my favorite yoga brand. I’m using a different mat here because I keep my Manduka at the studio, but my favorite mat and all other props are all Manduka, coming from a yoga teacher who’s tried a lot of stuff. I get asked about yoga brands a lot, and this is my answer. Just saying.
