Yin Yoga & Pranayama for Stressful Times

This 20-minute yin yoga practice uses pranayama to calm the nervous system. Yin Yoga is long-held poses to reach detoxification, calming and strengthening goals.

The pranayama we practice is called Nadi Shodhana which clears both main channels of the body - the perfect breath exercise for creating balance and harmony. The mic cuts out a little bit in the beginning but what I say to start is that nadi Shodhana is important for balancing both sides of the brain.

To start, bring peace fingers to the third eye and close right nostril with thumb. Breathe in through left nostril for a count of 5 then cover the left nostril with ring finger and breathe out for 5 through right nostril. Breathe in for 5 through right nostril, cover and exhale through left nostril for 5. That's one round.

You might need a blanket for your knees in both sides of lizard pose, pristasana. About 5 yin poses using nadi shodhana, leading up to savasana. Enjoy!
